Sick competition has started to stay in power: Mirza Fakhrul
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has commented that a sick competition has started to stay in power.
He said this while speaking as the chief guest at the unveiling of the book 'Rajbandir Jabanbandi' at the BNP Chairperson's office in Gulshan on Thursday (January 9) afternoon.
He said, "Since Hasina's escape, we don't know why we haven't been able to restore trust among ourselves. We can't stay in a place of unity. It's unfortunate that what has started now is not that healthy. Sick competition has started to stay in power. You can stay in power only when you can restore stability."
Regarding reforms, Mirza Fakhrul said, "We were the first to start reforms. We were the first to talk about reforms. Shaheed Ziaur Rahman was the first to reform from a single-party system to a multi-party democracy." This is the freedom of the press, there were only 4 newspapers operating in Bangladesh, he opened all the newspapers. He brought revolutionary changes to the closed economy and liberated it. He brought a free economy by eliminating the false socialist economy.
Mentioning that the main preface of nationalism is reform, Mirza Fakhrul said, the 19-point program was the biggest reform. None of us promote these things. Those of us who are very intelligent and talk big never bring these words because many of them have not yet been able to connect with their mothers and people. I would request everyone to look into these issues.
Also present at the time were journalist Shafiq Rehman, adviser to the chairperson Ismail Jabiullah, general secretary of the Krishak Dal Shahidul Islam Babul, adviser to the acting chairman Mahdi Amin, Krishak Dal leader Mahmuda Habiba, Kamruzzaman and others.
