A political division has been created in the country: Hasnat Abdullah
Hasnat Abdullah, the central convener of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, said, a political division has been created in the country, and those who have fled to India ultimately benefit from this division. We have to remove this division and remain united in the interest of the nation. Leaders must be people-oriented, not power-oriented. You should understand a little about who you will support when you follow a leader. If a leader is a tyrant and oppressor, if a leader takes away people's rights and seizes land, we do not need that leader.
He said these things as the chief guest at a view-exchange meeting organized by the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in Dhamati Union of Debidwar Upazila of Cumilla on Friday (January 24) evening.
Hasnat also said that after the fall of fascism, their leaders have fled to India and Dubai and are enjoying themselves, enjoying themselves. They did not take any of their workers with them while fleeing, and now those workers are unable to stay home. Thousands of cases have been filed in the country against leaders and activists of BNP-Jamaat and anti-fascist political parties, they have been arrested and tortured. Imams and scholars have been tortured. I woke up in Dhaka and saw the accused in the case of burning a car in Chauddagram, I saw all these things during the fascist period.
Some people are sitting in India and spreading rumors, saying that we have fled the country, where are we fleeing from the country, coming to our own home, what is it like to flee from our own home! Those who are spreading these rumors are now fleeing in India. They are fleeing in India and telling us that we will not find a place to escape, meaning they are the ones who are fleeing now and telling us that we will not find a place to escape. This is very ridiculous.
Dhamati Union student representative Zahidul Babu moderated the event, and other speakers including BUET Professor Khorshed Alam, Debidwar Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Coordinator Muhtadir Zarif Sikta, Nagarik Committee members Nazmul Hasan Nahid, Mujibur Rahman, and Habibullah Bashir, who was injured in the movement, among others.
