Adviser Asif calls on expatriates to invest in the country
Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan, the interim government's local government and youth and sports adviser, has called on expatriates to invest more to accelerate the development of Bangladesh. He made this call as the chief guest at the Remittance Award and NRB CIP Reception Culture program held in the United Arab Emirates on January 24 (Friday).
Adviser Asif said, "The remittances you are sending are strengthening the country's economy. It is possible to take that contribution on a larger scale through investment. This will further develop Bangladesh."
He also said that the passport-related complications for expatriates will soon reduce and the interim government is working to ensure their voting rights. Regarding the political situation, he said, "There may be differences of opinion, but we are unwavering in our anti-fascist unity."
The event was organized by the Bangladesh Community in the United Arab Emirates. It was presided over by Yakub Sunik, the convener of the organizing committee. The special guests at the event were Ambassador of Bangladesh Embassy in Abu Dhabi Tarek Ahmed, Consul General in Dubai Md. Rasheduzzaman and Ajman Sheikh family members Sheikh Mohammad Saeed Rashed Md. Hamid Al Noaimi.
The NRB CIPs were awarded with honorary crests at the event. Various leaders and members of the expatriate Bangladeshi community participated in it. Adviser Asif's speech and the atmosphere of the event inspired the expatriate Bangladeshis. They expressed their interest in becoming partners in the country's development by investing in Bangladesh.
