Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has been seriously injured in a stabbing. According to initial sources, he was attacked while trying to rob someone in the early hours of Thursday. His body was injured with a knife. The Bollywood star is undergoing surgery at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai.

Saif Ali Khan's public relations officer said in a statement that an attempt was made to rob Saif Ali Khan's house. He was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai in a bloody state from his house. Doctors have confirmed deep wounds near the spine and on the neck. The operation is now underway. The police are investigating the attack.

Lilavati Hospital CEO Neeraj Uttmani said, 'Saif was brought to Lilavati Hospital at around 3:30 pm on January 16. He has six injury marks on his body. Two of them are quite deep. One injury is near Saif's spine. We are operating on him.’

Another doctor at Lilavati Hospital, on condition of anonymity, told the Indian media Hindustan Times that the actor has suffered multiple injuries but can move his arms and legs. His spine also seems to be fine. A part of the knife was also found on his body.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Police said that a search has been launched to arrest the attacker. They are trying to find out who attacked Saif. Some suspects have also been arrested.

The police are investigating whether the attack on Saif's house was just for the purpose of looting or if there was any other reason behind it. They are questioning all the employees of Saif-Kareena's house.

Mumbai Police also said that the thief entered Saif's Bandra apartment on Wednesday midnight. Saif saw that the housemaid was arguing with someone. When Saif tried to stop them, he was attacked. And at this time, the miscreants started fighting with Saif. The thief stabbed him with a knife. Saif's housekeeper was also injured in this attack. According to the Indian media outlet Aaj Tak, Kareena, Taimur and Jeh were at home at the time of the attack. But they are all fine. Kareena had been partying with her sister Karisma and friends until late at night. 

Sylhet: Actress and former general secretary of Bangladesh Film Artists Association Nasrin Akhter Nipun has been released after interrogation.

On Friday (January 10) morning, the immigration police offloaded her passport while she was flying to the UK on Bangladesh Biman's BG-201 flight from Sylhet Osmani International Airport.

Sylhet Metropolitan Police ADC Media Mohammad Saiful Islam confirmed the matter.

He said that the offloading was done before the flight to London. Later, she left.

An intelligence officer on duty at Sylhet Osmani Airport said on condition of anonymity that following objections from the National Intelligence Agency, the immigration police offloaded actress Nasrin Akhter Nipun and sent her back to London from Sylhet at around 9:20 am on Friday. She was not detained or arrested.

Awami League leaders and activists have been missing since the political upheaval on August 5. Since then, Nipun, who was active in Awami League politics, has not been seen in front of the media. Many were saying that Nipun left the country out of fear of arrest.

Legendary actor Prabir Mitra, known as the legend of Dhaka cinema and the Nawab of the silver screen, has passed away.

He died at around 10:15 pm on Sunday (January 5) while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the capital. Prabir Mitra was 81 years old.

Actor Misha Saudagar confirmed the matter. In a post on social media, Misha Saudagar wrote, 'Prabhir Mitra Dada is no more. He passed away a while ago. May God forgive him.'

Earlier, his son Mithun Mitra had said that the actor's condition was critical. He said that his father was admitted to the hospital on December 22 due to some complications related to old age. After tests, he was diagnosed with lung problems. Later, he was taken to the ICU.

The veteran actor was born on August 18, 1943 in Chandina, Cumilla. His full name is Prabir Kumar Mitra. Prabir Mitra, who grew up in Old Dhaka, got involved in theatre since his school days. During his school days, he acted in Rabindranath Tagore's play 'Dakghar'.

Incidentally, Prabir Mitra entered the film industry in 1969 with late H Akbar's 'Jolchhobi'. In 1982, he won the National Film Award in the Best Supporting Actor category for the film Boro Bhal Lok Hili. In 2018, he was awarded the National Film Award in the Lifetime Achievement category.

National Film Award-winning actress Anjana Rahman has passed away (Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun).

She died on Saturday (January 4) while undergoing treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).

President of the Artists' Association Shahid Hasan Misha (Misha Sawdagar) confirmed her death.

Anjana Rahman was admitted to a private hospital in the capital in an unconscious state for 10 consecutive days. She was admitted to the CCU for those few days. But there was no improvement as expected. Rather, her condition deteriorated. So she was admitted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) on Wednesday (January 1) night.

It is known that Anjana had been ill for 15 days. Initially, she had a fever. Her whole body would shake and the fever would come. At one point, she was not working even after taking medicine. Finally, it was found that an infection had been detected in her blood. Then, on the advice of a doctor, she was quickly admitted to the hospital.

Incidentally, heroine Anjana was a well-known face in Bangladeshi films as well as in the international arena. From a dancer to a heroine, she is also the only domestic film actress to have acted in the most joint productions and foreign films.

Starting with 'Dassiu Bonhoor' after this film in 1976, she worked continuously. So far, she has acted in more than three hundred films. She has also received the National Film Award twice for her performances in 'Parineeta' and 'Gangchil'.
