Questioning why the market syndicate is still rampant, BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman said, in such a situation, it is natural for many people to have questions, so are some in the government more focused on some other issue? Or is the government not able to?

He said this as the chief guest at a teachers' rally organized at the Engineers Institute Bangladesh premises in Ramna in the capital on Saturday (January 25) afternoon demanding nationalization of teaching and staff jobs.

He said, BNP is in favor of both reforms and elections. Both are very important. Some have tried to argue about whether reforms or elections. If we look at the conflicting situation in the country, it is different. For crores of families in the country, running a household is more important than elections and reforms at this moment. On the one hand, the rise in commodity prices and on the other hand, the burden of VAT imposed on the people. As a result, in many cases, even farmers, laborers, workers, and even low-income middle-class families have become burdens to make ends meet. Many families are crying silently. How can the daily misery of the people be alleviated, how can the market syndicate be broken and kept within the reach of the people, how can the people be freed from false cases like fascists, how can the law and order forces be activated, how can the safety of people's lives and property be ensured, these issues are very important to have on the priority list before the interim government.

The acting chairman of BNP said, the people believe that it is easy for a non-partisan, non-political government like the interim government to free the people from the market syndicate. So now the question is, why has the interim government failed to control the market so far. Why is the burden of reverse VAT being imposed on the people. Why is the violence of the market syndicate still going on? In such a situation, it is natural for many people to ask, so are some people in the government more focused on some other issue? Or is the government unable to do it?

Despite the various limitations of the interim government, we believe that this government cannot be allowed to fail in any way, he said, because this government has taken the responsibility of running the state with the commitment to build a democratic, non-discriminatory, humane Bangladesh by shedding the blood of thousands of martyrs.

Stating that the students and youth of the country have become interested in the political system, he said, this is definitely a positive aspect. These youth have not been able to vote in the last one and a half decades. If these youth, deprived of democratic political rights, form a new political party to establish the rights of the people, BNP will certainly welcome that initiative. However, if someone takes state or administrative support to form a political party, it will disappoint the people. If their behavior, statements, and comments towards other political parties are prone to quarrels, that will also be undesirable for the people.

Tarique Rahman said, of course, today's youth are the future of Bangladesh. Coming out of the past, the youth will create a new path, but not on a questionable path. The path must be transparent and natural. I consider it a waste of time to have misunderstandings or unnecessary arguments with the interim government on any issue on behalf of the people. At the same time, I would like to draw the government's attention to the fact that if the people can patiently accept the government's failure in the larger interest, then we think it is important for those in the government to have much more patience and tolerance.

The acting chairman of BNP said, BNP believes that politics is not about the people, but politics for the people. For this, BNP wants to ensure the political and economic power of the people of the country at any cost. Elections are one of the main effective tools to ensure the political power of the people. Creating controversy over the election process means strengthening the fascists who have been defeated and are fleeing without their knowledge.

Government school teachers do not go to classes. They do their work outside the classroom, said BNP standing committee member Abdul Moin Khan.

Regarding nationalization of education, he said, nationalization can definitely happen. Since BNP has done so much for teachers, there is no problem in nationalizing it. But one must understand the reality of Bangladesh, the education provided in government school and college classrooms is not even 50 percent of that provided in private schools and colleges. Ask any citizen of Bangladesh, they will testify.

Stating that government school teachers do not go to classes, Moin Khan said, they do their work outside the classroom. This is true, there are no salaries and allowances in government primary schools, yet the citizens of this country send their children to private schools by spending their pocket money. The people of the country have placed their trust in private schools and colleges and teachers.

Reminding the teachers of the responsibility in the journey of democratic transition of Bangladesh, this BNP standing committee member said, "Our first responsibility is to take every student back to the classroom after the revolution that has taken place, the uprising that has taken place, and then the students have come out of the classroom. If we cannot develop ourselves as an educated nation, then Bangladesh will not be able to stand as a respectable nation in the world."

Adviser Mahfuz Alam has commented that if Awami League returns again, fascism will return again.

He said this to the people at a wayside rally in Hajiganj, Chandpur on Saturday  afternoon.

He said, if Awami League returns again, fascism will return. On this day in 1975, on January 25, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman established Baksal and attempted to thwart all democratic movements in Bangladesh. And before the establishment of Baksal, Bangabandhu had abducted thousands of opposition leaders. At that time, they were abducted, murdered and raped by the people of the Awami League in the same style. So we no longer want the rule of Sheikh Mujib and Sheikh Hasina in this Bangladesh.

Adviser Mahfuz Alam further said, the current government's commitment is to try the murderers and reform the institutions that Sheikh Hasina has destroyed and to organize fair elections for a democratic change. The people of Bangladesh have been oppressed for the last 16 years during Hasina's long dictatorial and fascist rule. Children have been abducted, mothers and sisters have been raped, many people have been killed and thousands of people have been maimed. We, all political organizations, student organizations and scholars, have overthrown this fascist Hasina. If we do not reform the institutions through which fascist Hasina killed people, but do not reform them, these institutions will remain and the people will never be free from discrimination.

Also, based on the report of the Reform Commission, arrangements will be made for a democratic change of power through minimum reforms based on discussions with political parties and partners, said Mahfuz Alam, adviser to the interim government.

At this time, he prayed for the forgiveness of the souls of the four martyrs of Hajiganj during the anti-discrimination movement.

Earlier, a procession was made in Hajiganj-Shahrasti of the district on the occasion of the arrival of Adviser Mahfuz Alam. Later, when the adviser arrived, he was given a floral welcome by the leaders of the local civic committee, leaders of the anti-discrimination student movement, the Islamic movement and the student crowd.

It is worth noting that this afternoon, Mahful Alam Abdullah, adviser to the interim government, will be present as the chief guest at the civic reception ceremony at Ramganj Government College grounds in Lakshmipur. #

The leaders of the Khilafat Majlis Central Executive Council meeting expressed concern that if political parties cannot rise above party interests and establish a minimum national unity among themselves for the independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh and against fascism, the benefits of the mass uprising will not be permanent. The country will once again reach the edge of a deep chasm from which it will be impossible to escape.

They expressed this concern at the executive meeting held at the central office of the Khilafat Majlis at 3 pm on Friday (January 24).

The leaders also said that we must not forget that in the past months, fueled by the fallen fascist government and their foreign masters, attempts were made to create anarchy in the capital with communal provocations in the country, instability in the Chattogram Hill Tracts, and various unjust demands. To maintain unity in favor of the mass uprising, inter-party dialogue needs to continue, rising above ideology. It is the imperative demand of the time to stop open divisions and mudslinging and consolidate national unity in favor of the country's independence and sovereignty and against fascism.

Calling on the interim government, they said, take effective initiatives to overcome their limitations. Complete the necessary reforms as soon as possible and arrange for national elections by 2025. Take effective initiatives with political parties to make necessary reforms to the constitution, including replacing full trust and faith in Allah as one of the fundamental principles of the constitution, upholding Islam as the state religion, and ensuring that no laws are made against the Quran and Sunnah. Ensure service and moral quality improvement rather than changing the uniforms of the law enforcement forces. Take action against the accomplices of the fascist evil forces who are lurking in the administration. Reduce the depreciation of the currency and bring the prices of goods within purchasing power. Arrange for the return of the laundered money as soon as possible.
