BSF fence on Naogaon border stopped due to BGB obstruction
The BSF barbed wire fence on the Bastabor border in Dhamoirhat upazila of Naogaon was stopped due to BGB obstruction. However, the situation is currently stable.
Naogaon 14 BGB stopped BSF work on Wednesday (January 8) morning.
Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Iqbal Hossain, commander of Naogaon 14-BGB, confirmed this information.
He said that there is no fence between the two countries within about 600 yards of the Bastabor area of Naogaon. This morning, a BSF team suddenly came to that border area to construct a barbed wire fence. According to the law, no permanent establishment or fence can be built within 150 yards of the border pillars of the two countries except for crop cultivation. This will be applicable to both countries. But the BSF members came to construct the barbed wire in violation of international law. Upon learning this, the BGB members stopped them. At this time, the BSF members returned without doing any work.
