The government is going to be stricter in stopping the printing of note-guide books by ignoring the government's decision. The Ministry of Education has now ordered the DCs to appoint magistrates and run mobile courts to stop the printing of these banned books.

In a recent letter sent to the Dhaka Deputy Commissioner, the Ministry of Education said that the printing of new textbooks for classes 6 to 10 will continue throughout January. It has been asked to appoint magistrates and run mobile courts to ensure that the presses engaged in printing 40 crore textbooks do not print notes and guide books, diaries, calendars, etc. during this period. The letter also gave the addresses of 116 presses to the Dhaka Deputy Commissioner. It is learned that the same letter has been sent to several other Deputy Commissioners.

Earlier on December 3, the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) ordered that all types of auxiliary books or note-guides before the free textbooks from pre-primary to 10th and equivalent classes were printed and reached the hands of students.

NCTB said that the work of printing, binding and supplying textbooks of various classes is ongoing. It is the national and moral responsibility of all concerned to keep the activities uninterrupted and expedited. In this context, to help students receive textbooks on time, those concerned have been asked to refrain from printing all types of auxiliary books until the completion of the textbook printing, binding and supplying activities. 

BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia met Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) President and freedom fighter Dr. Colonel (Retd) Oli Ahmed.

On Sunday (January 5), Oli Ahmed went to Khaleda Zia's residence Firoza in Gulshan in the capital at around 7:15 pm. He then left Firoza at around 8 pm. They had a long 30-minute discussion.

Colonel Oli Ahmed's press secretary Salah Uddin Razzak said that Oli Ahmed exchanged greetings with Khaleda Zia during the meeting. He also inquired about the BNP Chairperson's physical condition.

It is worth noting that the BNP Chairperson is going to London next Tuesday for advanced treatment. She is scheduled to leave Dhaka for London on a Qatar Airlines air ambulance at 10 pm on Tuesday.

She is scheduled to be admitted directly to the hospital upon arrival in London.

BNP Secretary General and members of the Standing Committee had gone to Firoza to meet BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia before she leaves for London for medical treatment.

BNP leaders arrived in Firoza on Sunday (January 5) night. Later, they met and spoke with the party Chairperson till 9:12 pm.

It is worth noting that BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia will leave for London on Tuesday (January 7) evening in an Airbus A-319 special ambulance sent by the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. A delegation of about 15 people, including doctors, will be with her.

The party's Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said this after a meeting with Khaleda Zia on Sunday (January 5) at Feroza.

He said she (Begum Khaleda Zia) will travel to London on the night of January 7 for treatment. That is why we, the members of the standing committee, came tonight to bid farewell. We also talked to her.

Mirza Fakhrul further said, we have prayed to the Almighty Allah, may Allah heal her and bring her back to us, to the people of the country. May she lead the struggle that is going on for democracy. May that struggle be successful. The people of Bangladesh also have that expectation.

We are praying to Allah Almighty, may her journey be successful. May she receive proper treatment and return to us. He said.

He further said, we have not had any political talks. We all wished that she could go and return safely.
