Anti-discrimination student movement program to be held, declaration not being read
Tomorrow, Tuesday (December 31), there will be a program for the anti-discrimination student movement at the Central Shaheed Minar. However, the declaration of the July mass uprising is not being published today.
On Monday (December 30), at around 1 am, Abdul Hannan Masud, the main organizer of the anti-discrimination student movement, made this announcement at a press briefing.
He said that people from all over the country took to the streets on August 5. Tomorrow, people from all over the country and Dhaka will take to the streets in the same way. The interim government has agreed to our proclamation. We also support it. The proclamation will come from the government, but the program we have given at Shaheed Minar - we revolutionaries will not stop gathering.
Abdul Hannan Masud said that we will gather at Shaheed Minar according to the previous program. A six-hour letter will come from the government. Therefore, our gathering will not stop. There has been a domestic and foreign conspiracy against the proclamation, and the interim government has foiled that conspiracy.
When asked whether the proclamation will be published tomorrow, Masud did not give an answer and quickly left the press conference venue, saying that a procession will be held outside the office in favor of the proclamation.
Hasnat Abdullah, the convener of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, and Sarjis Alam, one of the coordinators, were not present at the press conference. Sarjis Alam entered the office after the press conference and left again within a few minutes.
Earlier, a notice was spread on social media Facebook stating that the pre-announced 'Proclamation of July Revolution' program at the Central Shaheed Minar tomorrow, Tuesday (December 31) had been postponed. However, Zahid Ahsan, the cell secretary (office cell) of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, said that the notice was fake.
After that, the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement held a meeting to clarify the matter. The announcement was made after that meeting.
It is worth noting that the leaders of the anti-discrimination student movement held a press conference on Sunday and said that they would deliver the 'July Revolution Declaration' at the Central Shaheed Minar in Dhaka on Tuesday afternoon. The leaders of the organization mentioned two basic issues in the declaration. It will describe the 1972 constitution as a 'Mujibbadi constitution' and send to 'grave' and declare the 'Nazi Awami League' irrelevant in Bangladesh.
