Two motor bikers killed in a road crash on Chattogram expressway
Two youths died on the spot after losing control of their motorbike on the elevated expressway in Chattogram city.
The accident occurred on Friday (November 8) at around 12 midnight on the Lalkhan Bazar-bound lane of the Freeport section of the EPZ police station.
The deceased are 28-year-old Md. Moktar and 36-year-old Md. Rubel. Both are residents of the city's Sadarghat area.
EPZ police station officer-in-charge (OC) Mohammad Akhtaruzzaman confirmed the matter to Barta24.com.
He said the accident took place in the Freeport area of the elevated expressway from Patenga to Lalkhan Bazar. It is believed that the motorbike lost control due to speeding and hit a street lamp post, causing the two riders to fall. Both died on the spot. One was stuck in the post, while the other fell on the road.
The OC also said, "I am at the scene. We are investigating the matter and further legal action is in progress." Incidentally, this is the first road accident death on the country's second longest Chattogram Elevated Expressway. Although earlier, a young man was injured after being caught in a rope 'trap' by a robber.
