The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has built a barbed wire fence along the zero line of the Dahagram border in Lalmonirhat without informing the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB). This has led to extreme tension as the BSF and BGB have deployed additional troops on the border.
The fence was installed about half a kilometer from the border between sub-pillars 46 and 37 of the Bangladesh-India main pillar DMP 8 since Friday (January 10) morning.
According to local sources from the BGB and the border, BSF members from the Karun camp of the 6th Raninagar BSF battalion in Cooch Behar state, India, have installed a barbed wire fence at the very end of the 150 yards of the zero line in violation of international border law.
