Nothing but democracy will work in Bangladesh from now on: Mirza Fakhrul
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has commented that nothing but democracy will work in Bangladesh from now on.
He said this in his speech as the president at a brief gathering in front of the party office before the start of the mass rally organized on the occasion of National Revolution and Mass Solidarity Day in Nayapaltan on Friday (November 8).
Before the rally started, Ulama Party convener Kazi Md. Selim Reza recited the Holy Quran and offered prayers.
Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, Sheikh Hasina looted this country with her allies for 17 long years. We fought against her for 17 long years. We were able to remove her from power through the latest student uprising. But her allies are still lurking. We are ready to stop any evil force. For this, we are always united and will be in the future.
He said, today's rally is on the occasion of the great revolution and mass mobilization day of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party. In this rally, we will prove that the nationalist party BNP is the biggest political force in Bangladesh. The revolutionary mass mobilization movement on November 7, 1975 was led by Ziaur Rahman, the promoter of multi-party democracy.
Mirza Fakhrul said, you know that Khaled Musharraf staged a coup before November 7. After that, Ziaur Rahman liberated the country by leading the Sepoy- Janata movement on November 7 to restore the sovereignty of the country.
He said, just as martyred President Ziaur Rahman took charge of Bangladesh on November 7, after him Begum Khaleda Zia took charge and now Tarique Rahman has taken charge.
The rally was inaugurated by the party's acting chairman Tarique Rahman, moderated by BNP's Publicity Secretary Sultan Salauddin Tuku.
