Chief Adviser instructs to keep commodity prices normal during Ramadan

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has directed field-level officials to work to keep commodity prices and supply chains normal during the upcoming Ramadan.

He gave this instruction while participating in a discussion with officials from 31 districts of four divisions through a video conference from the Chief Adviser's office on Monday (December 30).

He directed the officials to work intensively to maintain law and order in their respective areas, maintain communal harmony, preserve agricultural products, supply fertilizers and ensure peace and order in industrial areas.

Officials from Dhaka, Chattogram, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions joined the video conference. 19 divisional commissioners, police commissioners, range police chiefs, deputy commissioners and police superintendent-level officials spoke at the conference.

In his closing remarks at the conference, the Chief Adviser said that the statements and opinions of the officials will help the government in taking decisions in the coming days. This was my first opportunity to talk to you. I learned a lot, I informed myself about many things. It will be helpful in our work, he said.

Addressing the officials, Dr. Muhammad Yunus said, Ramadan is coming, you should pay special attention to the market prices focusing on Ramadan. Not only the market prices, but also work on how to make it easier to bring and take things.

He also said that several of the 15 commissions formed by the government for the purpose of reforms will submit their reports very soon. After these reports, discussions will start with political parties, discussions will also be held with citizens. Through this, an atmosphere of elections will also be created in the country.

The Chief Adviser instructed the field administration officials to be aware of the reaction to the report so that the reform work can be completed peacefully.

The program was moderated by Cabinet Secretary Sheikh Abdur Rashid. He said that the Chief Adviser will soon join a similar video conference with the officials of the remaining 33 districts of the four divisions.
