Commenting that Sheikh Hasina is a murderer at heart, senior journalist Shafiq Rehman said, I want to tell the Law adviser not to go to trial so much. Because I have a good idea of what Sheikh Hasina can do.
Shafiq Rehman said these things at a discussion titled 'BDR Murder: A Nail in the Coffin of Bangladesh' organized by the Sovereignty Movement at the Abdus Salam Hall of the National Press Club on Sunday (December 29).
He said, bringing Sheikh Hasina to the country means another farce, another joke. Because when Sheikh Hasina returns to the country, she will indulge in various misdeeds, because she is a murderer. She will cry with glycerin and lemon water when she comes home. And the hearts of the people of Bangladesh will melt.
The senior journalist said, those who survived the BDR murder should not only look at their financial, physical, and mental well-being so that they regain their self-respect.
Shafiq Rehman said, during the reign of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, a 50-year agreement was signed on the sharing of Farakka water. But that is ending this year. In a few days. So this government has to move on. Not just looking back, we have to look ahead. We have to see whether our children will get water in the future. I have been hearing for a long time that the Padma is drying up. Yesterday, pictures came out that Teesta is also drying up. I myself have been there and seen the dam.
He said, Syed Tipu Sultan, chairman of the International Farakka Barrage Committee, is saying something else. That is, the bigger danger now is the connection of the water of the 56 rivers of India that reach here. Earlier, there was a Farakka Barrage, and an agreement was made on the distribution of cusecs of water that came here. But now the water is flowing from here to the whole of India. So, not the Padma or Teesta, but other rivers will dry up. You have to work for that from now on.
Also present at the event were Lieutenant General (Retd.) Aminul Karim, political analyst Minar Rashid, Advocate Abdul Aziz, son of the slain BDR member, Sanjana Sania Zubaida, wife of the army officer killed in the BDR massacre, BDR Welfare Council President Md. Faizul Alam, central organizer of the Sovereignty Movement Md. Shamim Reza, Fuad Saki, North South University Coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Ayatollah Behesti. Other family members of the victims of the BDR massacre were also present.
