India said former Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina will stay in Delhi for the sake of security.

Randhir Jaiswal said that Delhi is aware of the various decisions taken by Bangladesh on the Sheikh Hasina issue. However, Sheikh Hasina has taken refuge in India for the sake of security, so she will stay there. He also said that India's position has not changed in this regard.

Meanwhile, measures will be taken to return Sheikh Hasina from India to the country, said the foreign adviser Touhid Hossain.

On Thursday, the International Crimes Tribunal has issued an arrest warrant against the former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on the charge of genocide surrounding the student movement in July-August. Sheikh Hasina has been ordered to appear before the tribunal by November 18.

After the fall of the Awami League government in the face of the mass movement of students on August 5, more than 60 murder and disappearance charges have been filed against party president Sheikh Hasina in the tribunal. Sheikh Hasina is the main accused in 54 of them.

After 39 long years of independence, the then Awami League government formed the International Crimes Tribunal in 2010 to try those accused of crimes against humanity. The official journey of the tribunal began on March 25 of that year. Later on March 22, 2012, another tribunal named Tribunal-2 was constituted. However, the two tribunals were merged on 15th September 2015. As a result, the trial of 71 perpetrators of crimes against humanity was ongoing in a tribunal. Thirty previous cases are still pending before the tribunal.
