The event was jointly organized by the Australian High Commission and the Commonwealth Missions in Bangladesh.

The Adviser said, the youth society of Bangladesh is a pioneer in climate action. Their innovative energy and passion are crucial to meeting the challenges of climate change. Platforms like the Commonwealth can empower young people to take effective action for a sustainable future.

Mentioning that Bangladesh wants climate justice, she said that Bangladesh is the least responsible for climate change but is suffering its adverse effects. Expected financial support from developed countries but did not get enough support. She wants to know how much money is needed to protect coastal districts and small island states.

Nardia Simpson, Acting High Commissioner of Australia also spoke on the occasion. She said that Australia will support Bangladesh through youth programs and capacity building initiatives.

Maldives High Commissioner Sheunin Rasheed also spoke on the occasion.

The event was attended by diplomats, climate activists, youth representatives and government officials. Discussions focused on how Commonwealth countries can enhance cooperation in youth-led climate initiatives.
