Dhaka: Six more bodies of martyrs of the July Uprising have been found in the forensic department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). However, their names and identities are not known. One of them is a woman and the rest are men.
The age of the male bodies is between 20 and 30. And the unidentified woman is 32.
The Special Cell on July Uprising confirmed this information at a press conference in DMCH at 3 pm on Friday (January 10).
At the press conference, they said that autopsies have been conducted on the bodies and DNA has been collected. It is reported that 5 people died due to trauma and one died from falling from above.
Special Cell Secretary Hasan Inam said, "While working as per routine, we came to know that there are 6 unidentified bodies of martyrs in the mass uprising at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. This morning, a team from the cell went to Shahbagh Police Station to collect detailed information. Police Station OC Khalid Mansur confirmed that the 6 bodies are in the cold storage."
He said, "The special team went there and inspected the bodies on the spot. It is known that 5 people died due to trauma. The cause of death of one person was mentioned as falling from a height. DNA of the bodies has been collected. Proven evidence has been collected. These have been confirmed by Shahbagh Police Station.
Shahbagh Police Station has informed that the bodies are of the anti-discrimination student movement. That is, we assume that they were martyrs in the July mass uprising. However, they have not yet clarified the date on which the bodies were brought there."
