The death toll from Israeli attacks in Gaza continues to rise. 52 more Palestinians have been killed in the valley in the last 24 hours. This brings the total number of deaths in the valley to about 43,800.
The Qatar-based media outlet Al Jazeera reported this information in a report on Sunday (November 17).
Al Jazeera reported that the Israeli military is continuing its attacks in Gaza. On Saturday, they attacked the occupied West Bank village of Beit Furik and set houses and vehicles on fire. At least 51 Palestinians were killed in this attack.
Meanwhile, the number of displaced people in this attack is also increasing. According to the United Nations, about 85 percent of the Palestinians in Gaza have been displaced by Israel's brutal offensive. And amid severe shortages of food, clean water and medicine, all of Gaza is now food insecure.
In addition, 60 percent of the infrastructure in the besieged territory has been damaged or destroyed. Israel has already been accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, Philippe Lazzarini, head of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), warned that people in northern Gaza are on the brink of famine.
He said that adequate relief aid is not being provided to the territory. An average of 30 truckloads of food are being delivered to the territory every day which is not enough for the residents to survive. This amount of relief is just over 6 percent of the daily needs. Israel is depriving them of basic rights, including food. They are obstructing relief efforts.
Earlier, the United Nations human rights agency said that it has verified the information of the deaths in Gaza since October 7. This has exposed the "horrific reality" of the people of Gaza. 70 percent of the dead are women and children.
The United Nations says that women and children are being killed in Gaza due to Israeli attacks on a regular basis. Men are not left out either. Not only that, they are also preventing relief efforts there. In addition, the supply of necessary medical supplies is being hindered. If such a situation continues, the people of the area will face extreme threat.
It is worth noting that the number of injured in this attack has reached 1 lakh 3 thousand 601 so far.
