The ACC has filed a case against 16 people including former Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina and her daughter Saima Wazed (Putul).
The case was filed on Sunday (January 12) alleging the allocation of 6 plots in the Purbachal New City Project.
The case statement states that Sheikh Hasina, through abuse of power, various irregularities and corruption, in collusion with senior officials of the Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK), has allocated 6 plots of 10 kathas each in her own name and in the name of other members of her family from Road No. 203, Diplomatic Zone, Sector No. 27 of the Purbachal New City Project, a total of 60 kathas.
In view of this allegation, a case has been filed naming Saima Wazed (Putul) as the first accused and Sheikh Hasina as the second accused.
The other accused in this case are Md. Saiful Islam Sarkar, administrative officer of the Ministry of National Housing and Public Works, Senior Assistant Secretary Purbi Goldar, Additional Secretary Kazi Washi Uddin, Secretary Md. Shahid Ullah Khandaker, former RAJUK chairman Md. Anisur Rahman Miah, former RAJUK member Md. Khurshid Alam, RAJUK members Kabir Al Asad, Tanmoy Das, Md. Nasir Uddin, Major (Eng.) Shamsuddin Ahmed Chowdhury (retd.), Md. Hafizur Rahman, Habibur Rahman, Sheikh Shahinul Islam and Md. Nurul Islam.
A case has been filed against them under Sections 161/163/164/409/109 of the Penal Code, 1860 and Section 5(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1947.
