Dhaka: Police have arrested Dhaka University Surjyasen Hall Chhatra League Organizing Secretary Moazzem H Rakib Sarkar and Shamsunnahar Hall Chhatra League President Khadija Akhter Urmi, who attacked the anti-discrimination student movement. Two separate teams of the Intelligence Department (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) conducted a raid and arrested them.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the Media and Public Relations Department of the DMP confirmed the matter on Sunday (October 27) night.
He said that the DB police have arrested Dhaka University Surjyasen Hall Chhatra League Organizing Secretary Moazzem H Rakib Sarkar, who attacked the anti-discrimination student movement. There are multiple cases against him.
Meanwhile, in a separate operation, the DB has arrested Khadija Akhter Urmi, president of Dhaka University Shamsunnahar Hall unit of Chhatra League, who was accused of attacking the anti-discrimination student movement in a separate operation filed at Shahbagh Police Station. The DMP official also said that legal action against her is under process.
